4 years flew by like a lightening bolt; now you see it, now you don’t. The years have gone by like weeks.. days even. Four years ago I moved to New York and walked into Pace with a heart full of hope, dreams and wishes. Four years later, I walk out of Pace with a dream come true. Pace University has been my home for the past four years alongside friends, mentors, business men/ women, the homeless, the variation of scents one can decipher walking down one block, “ladies and gentlemen, stand clear of the closing doors please!” & everything else this city and institution has to offer.
On May 22nd, 2018 I graduated from Pace University with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology ???? with recognition from Honor Society…
I would also have the pleasure of announcing that I have officially made Brooklyn my new home while venturing off on my newest endeavor as Assistant Supervisor at Young Adults Institute; a group home for individuals with mental disabilities. YAI has a team of over 4,000 employees and supports over 20,000 people in the I/DD community.
Thank you to the amazing support system that I had, have and will continue to be surrounded by. Mom, Dad, Sissy’s y’all pushed me, you gave me strength and you continuously reminded me to never give up. As hard as it could get at times, I always had the four of you to lean on and I knew you’d lift me up in my most dyer times of need. I love and appreciate you each so much. WE did it. Not just me. The five of us did this. We did it together and I wouldn’t have had it any other way ??
